How to Make Cream Cheese Cinnamon Cookies
Step 1
Soften your butter and cream cheese first. Mix them with sugar and salt. Beat them until light and fluffy. Then add the egg and vanilla.
Step 2
Turn your mixer speed down low. Add the flour and baking powder. Mix just until everything comes together. Over-mixing makes tough cookies.
Step 3
Cover your dough bowl tightly. Chill it in the fridge for one hour. This step is very important. Cold dough is much easier to handle.
Step 4
Preheat your oven to 190 C or 374 F. Line your baking pan with parchment paper. Do this about twenty minutes before baking. Your oven needs time to get hot.
Step 5
Make your cinnamon-sugar coating now. Mix four tablespoons of sugar with cinnamon. Use a shallow bowl for easy rolling. This gives the cookies their classic look.
Step 6
Take the dough from the fridge. Divide it into twenty-eight small pieces. Try to make them the same size. (A kitchen scale is a secret helper here).
Step 7
Roll each piece into a smooth ball. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar. Place them on your prepared pan. Leave two inches between for spreading.
Step 8
Bake for about twelve minutes. Look for golden edges on the cookies. Let them cool completely on the pan. Then store them in a tight container. What is the key reason for chilling the cookie dough? Share below!

Serving Your Cookie Creations
These cookies are perfect all on their own. But you can make them a full event. Try a simple side or a great drink pairing. It turns a snack into a moment. For serving, try a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A dollop of whipped cream is also lovely. For a drink, cold milk is the classic choice. A hot cup of coffee works well too. For a grown-up option, try a sweet dessert wine. Which would you choose tonight: milk, coffee, or wine?
Keeping Your Cookies Perfect
Cool cookies fully before storing them. They keep for five days in an airtight container. You can freeze the dough balls for up to three months. Just roll them in cinnamon sugar before freezing. Bake straight from the freezer, adding a minute or two.
This recipe is easy to double for a crowd. I always make a double batch for my book club. Having a ready-made treat saves time and stress. Why does this matter? Fresh, home-baked goodies make people feel special. Do you have a go-to treat for guests?
Simple Fixes for Common Hiccups
Is your dough too sticky? Chill it longer. Cold dough is much easier to handle. Did your cookies spread into each other? Give them more space on the pan. They need room to puff up.
Are they not turning golden? Your oven might run cool. Try baking for one extra minute. Why does this matter? Small tweaks guarantee soft, perfect cookies every time. My first batch stuck together, but I learned. What’s your biggest cookie-baking challenge?
Your Cookie Questions, Answered
Can I make these gluten-free?
Yes. Use a good gluten-free flour blend. The texture will be slightly more crumbly.
How far ahead can I make the dough?
You can refrigerate it for two days. This lets the flavors develop nicely.
What can I use instead of cream cheese?
Use full-fat Greek yogurt. The tang will be similar, but softer.
Can I halve this recipe?
Absolutely. Just halve all the ingredients. It works perfectly for a smaller batch.
Why use 00 flour?
*Fun fact: 00 flour makes them extra tender. All-purpose flour works great too.
